Ally Ng

dancer, choreographer, photographer

Ally Ng is a Chinese American artist originally from Philadelphia, PA with dual citizenship in the United States and the Netherlands. She began her training at the Philadelphia Dance Academy, focusing on ballet and contemporary work. Her studies continued at the Kansas City Ballet and the Kansas School of Classical Ballet before she moved to San Francisco to train at Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program. She has expanded her practice through workshops and intensives with Arts Umbrella, KOMOCO, Whim W’Him, GALLIM, Dual Rivet, the Royal Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, English National Ballet, and others.

Ally will graduate in May 2026 with a BFA in dance from New York University, where she has had extensive opportunities to explore choreography, photography, and interdisciplinary collaborations with composers, lighting designers, set and costume designers, filmmakers, and fellow choreographers. These experiences have deepened her interest in how multiple creative voices and mediums can come together to build a cohesive artistic world.

Rooted in her classical background, shaped by her time at LINES, and continuously inspired by the philosophy of Gaga, her artistic values center on improvisation, collaboration, dedication, and creating a space where everyone feels safe and welcomed. She is particularly drawn to the interplay of movement with set, light, text, and sound and how these elements collectively shape the emotional and narrative landscape of a piece. Through performance, she seeks to craft and collaborate on work that is sensory, embodied, and deeply alive in the present moment.
